MENTAL DIET: How To Develop An Irresistible Personality (Part 2)

People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars – and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

  • Saint. Augustine

Off to the side of the pathways of life are people who have been crushed with the agony of failure; battered with shattered dreams and hopes; crippled with disgrace and shame; handicapped of their talent through misuse; deemed helpless by the seemingly adverse circumstances of life; bound with the chains of bad habits; tortured by unpalatable memories; entangled in the cobwebs of the past; languished in despair about the present; fearful about the future.

Despite how you may have been beaten down by life, you must understand that God never makes junk. The Creator made you for a purpose. He has invested untold treasures buried within you. And it is your responsibility to unearth those priceless treasures within and take your place as royalty in the domain of life.

So, get up, dust yourself off, stand tall, walk with confidence, hold your head up high, and maximize your life!

EMBRACE YOUR UNIQUENESS:

Success cannot be copied because it is not a coping mechanism but rather it is an original reality, unique to the individual; anything apart from that falls below the level of success which is mediocrity. The principles of success can be copied but success is an original force. Success is not an imitation but rather it is an initiation.

Trying to fit in makes your life a misfit. Be yourself and you won’t fall short trying to be like another. Listen to the voice within and you won’t be an echo in the arena of life. You will plot your own path if you dare to think your own thoughts.

Embracing your uniqueness entails bracing up in taking up the responsibility of becoming all that you were created to be. “Standing out” makes for a breakout. You are an inestimable prize, a priceless jewel. When you are sick and tired of being yourself then you become stuck in tirades of troubles that lead to destiny being in the rubble. Therefore, love your life.

When you over-estimate yourself above others you become proud and when you underestimate yourself you end up in self-loathe. The right estimate of yourself breeds confidence rather than arrogance or ignorance and leads to esteemed successions of accomplishments in our journey of fulfilling destiny.

THE FACADE OF “HAVING MORE”

“We have more conveniences but less time; more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more medicine, but less wellness. We have multiplied our possessions without adding to our worth. We’re obsessed with making a living, but not a life. Medical breakthroughs have added years to life, but not life to those years. We’ve done bigger things, but not better things. We eat fast food; we suffer from slow digestion and shallow relationships. In our quest to get the “good life,” we have two incomes but more debt; faster houses, but broken homes. We take quick trips, use disposable diapers, possess a throw-away morality; have overweight bodies, and buy pills that do everything from cheer to quiet to kill. All in a quest to get what we already have – love.”

  • David Foster.

When we fail to strive to become more of what we were created to be we fall into the trap of striving to have more which builds up a façade of self-illusion leading to self-depreciation.

Lose sight of what others think you are and gain insight to become who you were created to be. You are God’s best, therefore, be your best. Striving to be the best is to fall into the trap of the rat race but when you become your best every day you plot your path and run your race, not in competition with anyone but in concentration to maximize your potential and fulfill your destiny which makes you a winner in the game of life.

Reject façades; inject your originality; and express authenticity. Create the life you can’t wait to lead and you will live the life that leads to progressive successes and significance.

You are the only one you will always live with until the end so make it worthwhile and great. Build a life of substance and discard the façade of an image, cultivate grace, and shun the superficiality of glamour.
