MENTAL DIET: How To Radically Transform Your Life (Part 2)
When there is a shift in your identity everything about your life changes.
Who you are not is just as important as who you are.
Who You Are Not:
- You are not your roles
Roles are what you do; identity is who you are. Your identity or how you define yourself determines your behavior or performance in the roles you function in life.
- You are not your past or history
You need to step out of what was into what is and evolve into what could be; your true identity makes that possible.
- You are not your behavior
You don’t look at your behavior to define your identity rather you look at your true identity to refine your behavior.
- You are not your circumstance
You don’t look at your circumstances to define who you are rather it is your identity that determines your response to the circumstances of life.
- You are not people’s opinion of you.
You don’t define yourself by people’s opinion of you because a product cannot accurately know, define, and give value to another product – it is only the Creator of the product can accurately know, define, and place value on His product.
- You are not your thoughts
The fact that you can think about what you are thinking about makes you separate from your thoughts. However, you are a product of your thoughts. – it is your true identity that causes you to change the fabric of your thoughts or thinking.
