To increase your value to the world, be improvement-driven; your desire and commitment set you apart in developing the powers of an irresistible personality.

PERSONALITY POWER 10: PROMPTNESS OF DECISION

You must know what you want and be committed to getting it.

HOW TO MAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS

  • GAIN CLARITY

Effective decision-making begins with having clarity about what you want and taking specific, committed action to transform your decisions into reality. When you tune in to decisiveness, you tune out procrastination.

  • ESTABLISH VALUES

Until you establish the values you want to live by, decision-making will be a dreaded task leading to a drabbed destiny. When you live by values governed by correct, universal, timeless, and self-evident principles, almost all your decisions are made, and you can be sure they will be effective ones leading to success. Every turning point in your life begins with turning on your decision-making switch. Direction flows from a decision.

  • EMBRACE TRUTH

When your mind is filled with truth, you will make right and wise decisions; but if your mind is filled with error, you will make wrong decisions. It is pertinent to fill your mind with the truth always. When spiritual truth is the anchor from which every decision of our lives emanates, we can be free to make sound decisions and reap amazing rewards. Daily prayerful meditation on the scriptures (Bible) is a vital necessity for the infilling of truth into our minds.

It has been said that history turns on small hinges. So do people’s lives. Over time, you make a series of decisions, each seemingly of little consequence. Yet, the total of these decisions finally determines the outcome of your life. A successful life depends upon developing a higher percentage of wisdom than error”32

PERSONALITY POWER 11:  GENUINE FONDNESS FOR PEOPLE

A great personality is approachable, polite, down-to-earth, and friendly. They treat everyone they meet with honor and dignity. They see value in people and are quick and ever-ready to make people feel valuable. To be friendly is to be interested in people.

The Confucianism Proverb is worth living out: “Behave towards everyone as if receiving a great guest.”

PERSONALITY POWER 12: TACT

Tact is an irresistible personality trait. Tact implies knowing exactly what to say and being able to say just the right thing at the right time, and also when silence is appropriate. Tact implies knowing exactly what to do and being able to do the right thing at the right time. Good judgment and good sense make this possible.

PERSONALITY POWER 13: MODERATION/TEMPERANCE

Moderation is ruling oneself with discipline and thereby gaining freedom from indulgence. Every wish, feeling, desire, passion, or want must be brought in subjection to temperance, which is the key to freedom leading to happiness.

PERSONALITY POWER 14: PUNCTUALITY

Punctuality is the mark of discipline and reliability, and the respect and value we have for others and their time. Time rates above money; time is equated with life. The habit of keeping people waiting is offensive to them and disrespectful, and it is a waste of their time, which invariably means a waste of their lives.

Therefore, appointments should be kept promptly, and for every engagement we have with others, we should have respect for the value of their time. If we must come late for an appointment or engagement for any reason, then we must inform the person or people involved prior to the set time of anticipated lateness or rescheduling of the appointment, as the case may be.

Punctuality commands respect and confidence.
