  1. THE HABIT OF BEING DECISIVE

Daily decision sets the pace for habit formation or retention and determines how you will live and what you will become. Your way of life today creates the tomorrow you are committed to.

The difference between excellence and mediocrity; is that success and failure are rooted in our daily practices. Different choices produce different results and create different destinies.

Habits are causes; the consequences are the effects. Your habits are what direct and control your destiny.

If we want to change the course of our lives, we must change what we do daily. Every action is a prelude to a destination or destiny. Your choices shape your habits and your habits shape your destiny.

Our daily decisions create the conditions of our lives. To change the condition of our lives, we must change the quality of our everyday decisions.

You may have had reasons for developing bad habits. However, you do not have any reason or excuse to hold onto it unless you want to go down with it.

You must make a committed decision to live your life by a higher standard and this can only be achieved by raising the stakes high in developing quality or great intentional practices. When you hold yourself to a higher standard, you won’t be held down by mediocrity.

There are two kinds of decisions we make in life:

  • Conscious Decisions are the choices we make deliberately or intentionally.
  • Unconscious Decisions- These are decisions that are on autopilot due to past conditioning. And if our past conditioning is working against our success in life then we will need to intentionally make conscious choices to replace the past conditioning or habits with great habits that make for an ideal life.

For the most part, many people have formed the habit of being indecisive. By being indecisive, you have also decided to be directed and controlled by the environment; other people’s agenda, and past conditioning.

The starting point of developing great habits is to have an absolute knowledge that cultivating these great habits is a vital necessity to living a great life and you also need to know how to cultivate these habits to become part of your nature.

All these will be communicated in this series. However, one aspect is your absolute responsibility and this is the desire to acquire these habits.

How badly you want to develop great habits will determine the level of your progress. You will never develop these habits despite knowing what they are and how to cultivate them in your life unless you want to imbibe them into the core of your being.

Therefore, knowing what to do; how to do it; and having the motivation or an intense desire to do it, is the key distinction that separates winners from losers.
