MENTAL DIET: How To Align with the laws Of Life (Part 2)
“Whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality”.
This law presupposes that your reality is a reflection of your belief system.
Once upon a time, some barons arrested and shut up a man in a dungeon in his castle. The jailer carried a great key a foot long leading the man into a dark hole. The man was in the dark dungeon for twenty years. Every day the big door would be opened by the jailer who came in to deliver a pitcher of water and a loaf of bread to the prisoner and immediately the door was shut up again. After twenty years, the prisoner could no longer bear his circumstances; he preferred dying to live in such a miserable condition.
However, he did not want to commit suicide. He had a plan; he decided to attack the jailer the next day and in self-defense, the jailer would kill him. He went ahead to examine the door in preparation for executing his plan. The prisoner caught the door handle and turned it; lo and behold: the door was opened. After closely examining the door, he discovered that there was no lock upon it and never had there been any.
Therefore, he found his way out of the dungeon, he encountered several armed guards but none of them paid any attention to him; he walked out a free man.5
Here’s the catch; all through those twenty years the door of the prison was opened but in the man’s mind it was locked up and as long as he thought and believed in that direction he remained in bondage.
The problem was not in the circumstance he found himself but the problem was in his mind. Whatever you believe to be true becomes true for you and it defines your reality even if it is a false belief. It is the mind that imprisons; it is also the mind that sets free. The key to freedom or bondage lies in the belief system you have chosen to adopt.
EVALUATE YOUR BELIEFS
Examine your thought patterns:
– What are your beliefs about money?
– What are your beliefs about success or business?
– What are your beliefs about love and relationships?
– What are your beliefs about your abilities, intelligence, and life?
– What are your beliefs about the world, people, and life’s challenges?
– Do you believe you deserve and can achieve your dreams?
– Are your beliefs in line with your goals?
Therefore, if you want to change your reality in any aspect of life, change your beliefs regarding that area.
