“You and I must not complain if our plans break down if we have done our part. That probably means that the plans of One who knows more than we do have succeeded”
- EDWARD E. HALE
RULE 2: BEWARE OF MAKING EMOTIONS YOUR LEADER
Emotions enable motion to success and could also push us to failure. Emotions are inevitable but they must be well-managed and positive emotions must be cultivated.
Well-managed emotions aid us to engage in winning actions. Emotions were not designed to rule over us or become our masters. We are to rule over our emotions and lead our feelings to work for us rather than work against us.
Never allow negative emotions such as anger, bitterness, and envy to influence your decisions if you want to be on the winning lane of life. Allow anger to pass but do not hold onto it, if you do not want to go down with it.
When negative emotions surge within, you view people, events, and circumstances in a distorted way and you make error-filled decisions that produce failing actions which leads to the dungeon of failure.
You can’t be level-headed when negative emotions become your head. Plotting vengeance is plotting your downfall.
Desist from playing the comparison game which produces envy and covetousness and you resist forfeiting fulfilling your destiny.
Comparing yourself with others makes you make wrong choices and move in the wrong direction. The comparison game is a game that leaves you empty and miserable.
Never let your emotions drive your decisions lest your life will be headed for a crash.
RULE 3: BEWARE OF BEING INTIMIDATED BY THE EXPERTISE OF OTHERS
Surround yourself with people of character and competence. Focus on what you know how to do best; pay for the best to do what you can do least.
Create a network of high-value team members and do not feel intimidated by them. See them as assets and complimentary to the success of everyone involved.
If you are the smartest in your team, then you will sweat it out and smash your success potential. When peak performers work together for a common goal for the common good they create an uncommon value and consistently raise the productivity level.
Focus on your core genius and surround yourself with other geniuses who are committed to the purpose and you will build a winning team. Until you delegate what you can do least, you will relegate what you can do best and negate your success.
Empower your team to perform at its best and you will gain the power to excel.
